Bloody Hellious now this is what Is called the pearly gates for food lovers who like a kick or 5 of food hailed from the most aromatic parts of this world. Hawker 45, I tell thee, it’s a superlative of fusion. We are lip syncing “Brasil, India, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam” An arsenal of flavours and what appears to be a labour of love, by two women chefs who are from different worlds. located in the Eixample (left) Hawker 45’s concept is street food, hence the name except with some pleasing & thoughtful touches in food and in restaurant! Suzy at Foodie in Barcelona went to Hawker 45 to investigate.
I’m always looking for a kick in my food. An I-can’t-put-my-finger-on-it flavour that makes me keep borrowing into the dish in search of enlightenment. Spice. Heat. Magic. At home, my kitchen trinity is not onions, celery, carrot but garlic, ginger & spring onions.
