The IBCF is back, on May 5th & 6th 2017 for it´s Second edition. The festival goal is to spread the specialty coffee culture. After last year’s successful first edition, IBCF is back to consolidate the event as the meeting point for the Spanish community of specialty coffee. . This initiative, which was created last year by All Those, Nømad Coffee, Right Side Coffee, Satan’s Coffee Corner and Skye Coffee Co, are back this year with even more content than the previous year. Coffee shops and roasters that support the specialty coffee scene in Barcelona as well as in other cities from the rest of Spain will be present, as well as some guests from Europe will join this event, unique to the city. Another new addition to the festival will be the professional day aimed at people who work within the speciality coffee industry. On Friday May 5th, all kind of activities, talks and workshops will take place for coffee shop owners, baristas, roasters and coffee enthusiasts. Some of the topics for example will be: the importance of the milling scale when extracting coffee or the important role of water, and there will be calibrated tastings by some of the most worldwide acknowledged coffee importers like Nordic Approach or 32cup.
On Saturday, May 6th, alongside with the Poblenou Open Day, we will hold a big event in Espacio 88 open to anyone interested that feels curious to know more about this new wave of coffee. There will be free unlimited coffee roasted by the best Spanish roasters, activities by some of the leading people in the local gastronomic scene like chefs, artisans and producers. This day will have music, food, craft beer, natural wine, coffee-based cocktails and, of course, non-stop coffee

Saturday 6th May coincides with the Poblenou Open Day, the festival’s central event will be held at Espacio 88. It will be a day open to the public where you can try all kinds of local toaster coffee, attend workshops and seminars about the most leading gastronomic projects and culinary craft scene. In addition, there will be no shortage of music, street food, natural wines and limited editions of coffee beer! HAVE FUN!
